Niggle had a vision.
It started as a simple painting of a leaf. But it didn’t stop there.
The leaf grew into a tree, the tree into a forest, and the forest into a breathtaking valley.
Niggle wanted to capture his vision on canvas so all the world could see what he saw.
However, no matter how much time Niggle put into his painting there was just never enough time. A lifetime was too short.
Can you see more potential in your business than the time, or energy, you can put in?
That's where I come in.
That feeling you have, reading about Niggle, is exactly why I formed Tree and Leaf Partners. I named my entrepreneurial venture after J.R.R. Tolkien’s collection of short stores where the story of Niggle is captured. I’m looking for someone who feels a bit like Niggle did, but makes a different choice. Someone who desires for someone else to take up their torch (or paintbrush) and keep painting.

Meet Andy Galpin
Driven by my desire to build more meaningful places for people to come to work, I founded Tree and Leaf Partners for one simple reason: To find, acquire, and operate one great small business.
Maybe it’s yours?
Born in England, I grew up relentlessly curious. During school I started a web design firm to help small businesses get onto web. My curiosity led to a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Portsmouth and job offer from IBM.
I spent the next five years sitting alongside people, understanding their challenges and helping build solutions that would improve their lives. That’s the ethos I carry with me.
My Christian faith forms the foundation of who I am. My time in Uganda, training pastors, inspired my own Master’s in Theology from Chester University. But my home was always the business world, so a year later, I resigned from IBM and flew to Chicago for my MBA. During my time at the Kellogg School of Management, I met my wife Jenna, and founded Tree and Leaf Partners (it was a busy two years!)
We are now in Dallas, TX. She works for a local non-profit that transitions old church buildings into vibrant community spaces combining churches, businesses, schools and a community coffee shop.
In our spare time, we love to cook. I’m an avid fantasy reader and she loves to explore the beauty in creation through her photography.

I have hand-selected a number of people who align with my vision of running a people-first organization. They are aligned with investing in employees, building a great place to come to work and creating an ecosystem where all parties can thrive as we solve problems together. They provide wise-council, mentoring, financial support and industry advice to help me, and the organization be successful.
Niggle eventually went on a journey that resulted in him finding his happy ending (I won't spoil it!)
